Escape Tybee

The idea for Escape Tybee started the summer of 2017 when my family visited my brother in Chicago.  We did a game at Fox in a Box an we were hooked.

Business Evaluation:
We live in a very small tourist town near a medium small tourist town and we wanted to start an escape room in our very small tourist town.  We finally found a place and signed a lease April 2018.  We barely broke even our fist year. Our town does not quite have enough people and visitors to run a huge money-making escape room business but it does have enough enthusiasts and visitors so that eventually we can grow the business enough to make a little money and do what we love.

Fun Evaluation:
We got our first room up an running June 2018 and our 2nd room running in July of 2018.  In January of 2019 we completely redid both rooms.  We’ve had hundreds of visitors and many, many positive reviews. Setting up a new business from scratch has been a huge learning experience.  Running that business well an achieving success has been amazing.  Every aspect of the process from the business side to the creative side to the customer forward side has been such a different experience from my previous endeavors.  It has been incredibly rewarding and fun.
